One of only approximately 7,500 to 8,500 Model 1906 Commercial American Eagle Luger pistols chambered in 7.65 mm Luger Auto that were manufactured by DWM. These pistols were made explicitly for export to the United States, and were sold in sporting goods stores and catalogs throughout the country. The Model 1906 was a culmination of improvements made on the Model 1900, with this example showing that refinement with its solid checkered toggle, coiled recoil spring, and more durable extractor. Features fixed blade front and notch rear sights, grip safety, an "American eagle" crest on top of the chamber, "DWM" monogram on the front toggle, and "GERMANY" export mark on the front of the frame. The extractor is marked "LOADED", and the lower safety position is polished. Matching visible "commercial" pattern serial numbers on the barrel and frame, with matching "22" partials on the takedown lever, trigger, side plate, toggle links, breech block, extension, and grip safety. Fitted with a set of unnumbered checkered walnut grips and a nickel plated magazine with unmarked wood base. Includes a retailer letter detailing the pistol.

Very fine overall, retaining 85% plus original blue finish and 70% straw colors with scattered light handling marks, faint spotting, and crisp markings. The grips are very fine with a few light dings. Mechanically excellent.
