Manufactured in 1907, this is a fine example of a special ordered, individually shipped, Colt Frontier Six Shooter revolver. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration (grips not listed), including the special order German silver bead front sight, hand finished action, and 3 1/2 pound trigger pull, as well as shipment to A. Arntsen on 28 January 1907 in a single gun shipment. The identity of A. Arntsen is unclear, though multiple newspapers from the period in Wisconsin list an A. Arntsen as a mill operator and an alderman. The top of the barrel is marked with the standard one-line address while the left is marked "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER". The left side of the frame is marked with the two-line patent dates followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The left of the trigger guard is marked with the "VP" verified proof and "T". The matching serial number is on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard, back strap, and hand marked inside both grip panels ("8257"). The assembly number "9489" is marked inside the loading gate. It is fitted with a thicker than standard blade front sight to accommodate the special order German silver bead, groove rear sight, and a pair of checkered hard rubber grips with Rampant Colts at the tops.

Very fine, retains 60% plus of the bright original high polish blue finish and 75% plus of the vibrant original case colors with the balance having thinned to either a grey or brown patina. The grips are also very fine with a few scattered light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The writer cannot recall another Single Action Army with this combination of special order features!
