This factory engraved Model 421 was manufactured in 1957 as a "deluxe edition" of the famed Model 418 pattern pistol. There is little English language information on the Model 421 due to its scarcity, however the very limited run of pistols is described by J.B. Wood in his book "Beretta Automatic Pistols" on page 42. The pistol has a beautiful full-coverage floral engraving, with the left slide flat marked "P.BERETTA-CAL.6.35-GARDONE V.T." and the right marked "MADE in ITALY", proof marks and "1957" date code to the rear of the left grip strap, angled grip serrations, and a contoured grip safety. Included is a velvet-lined form fitted Beretta case. Magazine absent.

Excellent overall, retaining 97% plus of the original gold finish, with some minor edge wear. Case is very fine. Mechanically excellent. A very fine addition to any Beretta collection!
