Description:

Manufactured in 1866. The barrel has a cone front sight and the one-line New York address. The cylinder has the classic Naval Battle of Campeche scene, and the cylinder and frame have the standard patent markings. The left side of the trigger guard has "36 CAL." All of the visible serial numbers match. The loading lever is blank. The case has wine colored lining, an Eley Bros. cap tin, martial themed powder flask with sloped charger, L-shaped combination tool, cartridge pack, "38 B" marked ball/bullet mold, and some balls and bullets.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 75% plus bright original high polish blue finish remaining overall, 60% plus original case colors, patches of age darkened original silver plating in the protected areas and butt of the grip frame, smooth aged patina on the exposed brass, and some mild overall ear including numerous small dings by the wedge. The revarnished grip is fine and has a repaired flake on the lower left edge, faint cracks, some dings and scratches, and a small chip at the toe on the right. Mechanically excellent. The refinished case and the accessories are fine and have some age ands storage related wear. Overall, a very attractive cased set.
