Manufactured between 1865 and 1871, one of the most fascinating period in American arms development, with only a few hundred built. Blued Damascus steel barrels with a single bead sight on smooth solid rib and the all important hinged breech section. The gun shows nice scroll engraving on the action body, hammers, and tangs and features double triggers. Highly attractive, multi-point checkered forend and straight grip stock with teardrop carved flats and a smooth steel buttplate. Stock measurements: 2 inch drop at comb; 2 7/16 inch drop at heel; 14 1/4 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 11 oz.

Very good, showing a mix of grey and brown patina on the metal surfaces, some dark oxidation in patches, mild handling evidence, and overall crisp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.
