Description:

This pair of holster is very similar to those owned by Maj. Gen. John Sedgwick when he was killed at Spotsylvania Court House in the West Point Museum Collection and shown on page 122 of "Civil War Collector's Encyclopedia" by Lord. Somewhat similar sets are also shown in "Packing Iron" by Rattenbury. They are made of black leather with yellow colored piping and brass caps. There are six-round cartridge boxes fitted at the top of each holster with their own flap.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with nice leather, some crackling, strong yellow, and pretty minor overall wear.
