Ordered by the United States Marine Corps, the MC-58 was intended as a small caliber training counterpart for the M14 rifle, adapting the H&R Model 65 Reising with an appropriate stock and set of sights. The top of the receiver is marked "USMC PROPERTY, MODEL MC-58/H&R MODEL #65 MODIFIED/HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON, INC." The top of the barrel is marked "= USMC PROPERTY =/HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON INC./WORCESTER, MASS., U.S.A." and ".22 CAL. LONG RIFLE ONLY" on the left rear of the barrel. A Defense Acceptance Stamp is located on the front of the pistol grip area.

Excellent, retains 98% original parkerized finish with some scattered light handling marks, some light freckling on the bolt and a few patches of light pitting on the Redfield rear sight. Stock is also excellent with a few light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
