Description:

A unique example of a U.S. Air Force issued Beretta M9 General Officers pistol, which was introduced in 1986 based on the continuing need for the U.S. Military to issue service pistols to newly promoted General Officers. This specific pistol is listed by the included DD Form 1149 as shipped from Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, to Montgomery, Alabama, marked for Brig. Gen. Jeffrey L. Newton, dated February 21, 2018. The right side of the frame is marked: "U.S. 9mm M9 - BERETTA U.S.A. - 65490" with the left side marked with serial number: "1285908." The left and right sides of the slide have the standard factory markings of "U.S. 9mm M9-BERETTA U.S.A.-65490" followed by the Beretta factory, circled "PB" logo, and "ASSY 9346487C" marking. The slide is fitted with the standard fixed white dot front and rear combat sights along with ambidextrous safety levers, ring hammer, and lanyard loop on the heel of the frame. It is fitted with checkered walnut grips, with blue USAF logo medallions inlaid. The magazine features an added USAF laser engraved end plate. Includes a blue Beretta hard case, black leather belt with DoD coat of arms buckle, holster, dual magazine pouch, standard magazine end plate, and U.S. issue M9 operator's manual. Also included are a DD Form 1574 signed "JOSEPH J. KRUEGER/USAF Gunsmith Shop/21 Feb 2018" and a memorandum from the Air Force Cycle Management Center at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, dated August 25, 2017, which discusses changing the configuration of USAF issued General Officer M9 Pistols from a hand polished blue finish to Cerakote, which is exemplified through the Cerakote finish used on the pistol.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall, retaining 99% of original Cerakote finish with light handling marks and crisp grip checkering. The case and holster rig are also excellent. Mechanically excellent.
