Description:

Introduced in 1954 for use by the Czech Army as a sniper rifle, the vz.54 was only made until 1957 and saw limited use before being phased out in favor of the Dragunov SVD. The heart of the weapon is a Mosin-Nagant 91/30 receiver, which has been built up into a precision sniper rifle with a free floating barrel. Hooded post front and tangent rear sights, with the latter graduated to 1,200 meters (50 meter increments up to 700 meters), with an angled dovetail scope rail installed on the left side of the receiver. "57" dated on the receiver, with the matching serial number "G1965" marked on the receiver, bolt trigger guard, floorplate and stock, and "E4863" marked on the scope base. The bolt is factory turned and lengthened, with the head slotted to double as a wrench for the scope bolts. The scope itself is fixed power with integral windage/elevation knobs, marked "yal/2,5x6(degree)P" above "F0567" and a logo on top, with an integral rail, rubber eyepiece and leather/wood end caps. Fitted with a smooth pistol grip stock, with a canvas sling.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 90% plus arsenal refurbished blue/black finishes, with some scattered patches of mild pitting visible underneath the finish. Counterbored 1 1/2 inches at the muzzle. The stock is also very fine, with some scattered light dings and scratches. The scope is excellent with clear and crisp optics. Mechanically excellent.
