Originally manufactured in May of 1944 and subsequently arsenal upgraded to the M1D Sniper configuration. Rifles so converted were used as sniper weapons during Korea and the Vietnam War. Blade front and peep rear sights, "DRC" windage drum, "S-A-9-52" marked barrel, "SA" bolt, relief cut operating rod, trigger housing and hammer. Fitted with a Hart M2 cone flash hider, M84 scope serial numbered "26365", with a post-and-crosshair reticle, sliding sunshield and a rubber eyepiece, olive drab green canvas web sling and an unmarked leather cheekpad. The arsenal replacement stock is stamped with an open boxed "S.A./RA" inspection cartouche and a circled "P" proofmark on front of the pistol grip. Accompanied by an Anniston shipping box with a matching hand numbered label to the rifle and scope, containing some sealed cleaning tools and accessories. Also includes a cleaning rope, combination tool and oiler inside the butt compartment, a copy of a packing list and a "1-4-96" dated government invoice.

Exceptionally fine as arsenal upgraded to M1D configuration, retains 99% parkerized finish with very light wear from mounting of the flash hider. The stock is excellent with a few light handling marks and distinct edges overall. Scope is excellent, retains 99% original blue finish on the tube with a few light handling marks, some dry cracking on the rubber eye piece, and crisp clear optics. Mechanically excellent. Included box is fine.
