Manufactured in 1935 in a limited production run of 579, the Republican Guard Contract Luger used a 1906 pattern frame with a grip safety, smooth back strap and tapered pencil barrel. Fixed sights, the chamber stamped "GNR" (Guarde Nationale Republicanie) and the Mauser banner on the toggle. The left side of the barrel extension and underside of the barrel have small "crown/crown/U" firing proofs, and the pistol is numbered in the military manner. This model also has the extractor and lower safety area marked "CARREGADA" and "SEGURANCA" respectively. Straw finished small parts, niter blue pins and screws, checkered grips and nickel plated magazine with a mixed numbered hardwood base. Included with the lot is a black leather holster and a pin punch.

Fine, with 60% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina, bright edge wear, and scattered spotting and handling marks. 40% original straw and niter blue colors are visible on the small parts, and the grips are very good with some dents and flat spots. The holster is very good, with minor cracking. Mechanically excellent.
