Description:

An example of a DWM Model 1906 Navy pattern commercial Luger pistol. The commercial Luger pistols were some of the most cutting edge and desirable semi-automatic pistols available in the first decade of the 20th century, and found interested markets around the world to include the United States and South American nations. The top of the chamber area is unmarked, with the standard "DWM" marked on the front toggle. It features the desirable 6 inch Navy type barrel, marked with "crown/B," "crown/G," and "crown/U" proofs, two-position 100-200 meter Navy type rear sight, grip safety, and "GESICHERT" safety marking in the lower position. All matching visible serial numbers on various components including the underside of the barrel extension and grip panels. The nickel finished pre-war Navy style magazine fitted with walnut base with concentric circles marked "5616." Includes a board shoulder stock marked with the matching number on the iron attaching area and with an attached sling along with a leather holster with cleaning rod and takedown tool.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retaining 90% plus refinished/period blue finish with scattered light edge wear and spotting. 70% of straw finish remaining. The grips are fine with some light bruising and crisp checkering. Included stock is fine as re-oiled, holster is good. Mechanically excellent.
