Blued Bohler Pasant steel barrel with a ramped beaded blade front sight, fixed rear sight, and German style claw mounts (two front lugs) holding a Swarovski 3-12x50mm Habicht scope on the matted solid rib which is marked "KARL HAUPTMANN - FERLACH", 1997 dated Austrian proofs, light engraving at the breech, and automatic ejector. The coin finished boxlock action displays attractive scroll engraving surrounding a trio of game scenes with a roe buck and doe on the left, a fox flushing a pheasant on the underside, and a pair of chamois on the right. The rifle features a bushed firing pin, double set triggers, and a manual cocking piece/safety. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings and a horn Schnabel tip as well as a pistol grip stock with cheekpiece, silver hog inlaid on the grip cap, blank inscription oval, rear sling stud, and Pachmayr Old English recoil pad. Excellent, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence and tarnished grip cap and inscription oval. The fine wood shows a few dings and scratches, some chipping along the left of the stock head, a small crack off the upper tang, and overall crisp checkering. The scope optics are clear. The case is fine. Mechanically excellent.
