Description:

The first model Sharps & Hankins or Model 3A had many variations. All had removable side plates, but there the resemblance ended. This one is a sixth variation and is marked "ADDRESS SHARPS & HANKINS PHILADELPHIA PENN" in the flute on top of the barrel. The right side of the frame is marked "C. SHARPS PATENT / JAN. 25 1859". This variation has the firing pin mounted on the hammer, the side plate and the extractor between the barrels. There are four screws visible on the left side of the frame. The one on the right side of the standing breech is a replacement.

Rating Definition:

Fine with strong traces of blue in the flutes of the barrel and half the silver remaining on the frame. The grips are worn at the high spots around the base. Mechanically fine.
