Winchester 61 Rifle 22 SL LR
Manufactured in 1939, this rifle is nicely engraved in the Alden George Urlich style. The breech end of the barrel has a splash of scroll engraving on the top, the top of the receiver is vine and scroll engraved and the receiver is scroll engraved with curl borders and a hawk in a tree on the left side and a squirrel in a tree on the right side. This distinct style of the engraving is pictured in The Book of Winchester Engraving by R.L. Wilson on page 293. It is equipped with the standard sights, the short 11 groove slide handle and smooth pistol grip stock with a checkered steel buttplate.

Winchester 1890-Rifle 22 short
Second variation of Second Model 1890. Serial number marked on the lower tang as well as on the bottom front of the receiver. Features a beaded blade front sight and adjustable rear sight. Two line Winchester address marked on top of the barrel, "22 SHORT" also marked on the top of the barrel just in front of the receiver. The model designation and trade mark are stamped on the upper tang. It is the takedown variation with the takedown feature on the left side of the receiver. It has a plain straight grip stock with a crescent steel buttplate and grooved slide handle.

Manufactured in 1919. Standard two-line Winchester address and patent markings on the left side of the barrel followed by "MOD. 1906", correct proofs on the top of the barrel and receiver, the serial number is stamped on both the bottom of the receiver as well as on the lower tang. The rifle features a blade front and adjustable rear sight. Takedown feature on the left side of the receiver. Smooth pistol grip stock and contoured slide handle, checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate. The expert model was produced between 1918 and 1924.

An excellent example of the smoothbore rifle as manufactured by Winchester in 1952. Equipped with a brass bead front sight and manufactured without a rear sight. 3/4 magazine tube, barrel markings are "MODEL 61 -- 22 L. RIFLE / ---FOR SHOT ONLY---". These smoothbore rifles are seldom encountered and variations exist. Seventeen groove flat bottom forearm with a plain pistol grip stock and checkered metal buttplate.

Winchester Model 61 manufactured in 1950. The rifle has a blued barrel and receiver with oil finished walnut stock and slide. The rifle has a round barrel and is fitted with an adjustable sporting rear sight. The top of the barrel and receiver are stamped with the oval Winchester proof marks. The left side of the barrel is marked: "MADE IN NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S. OF AMERICA/-WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-" in a two line block followed by: "-WINCHESTER-/-TRADE MARK-" in a two line block and the designation: "-MODEL 61-22.S.L.OR L.R.-". The serial number, "145308" is located on the bottom of the receiver. The lid of the cardboard box has a picture of a squirrel hunting scene printed in red and blue. A white end-label has the Model 61 designation with the serial number, "145308", written on the label in blue ink. The box is complete with all of the original oiled wrapping paper and cardboard packing material and includes the original "MODEL 61 INSTRUCTION MANUAL" and "THE 10 COMMANDMENTS OF SAFETY".

Manufactured in 1911. This is third type action with the visible locking lug on the breechblock protruding through the sides of the receiver. The two-line Winchester address and patent dates as well as, "22 LONG" are marked on the top left flat of the octagonal barrel. Blade front sight and adjustable rear sight. Plain straight grip stock and grooved slide handle. Crescent steel butt plate. 3/4 length tubular magazine. These single caliber Model 1890's are scarce with a portion of the production being made in each of the non-standard calibers (Winchester developed the .22 WRF specifically for the Model 1890).

When the Model 1890 and 1906 were dropped from production in 1932, Winchester introduced the Model 62 to take their place. Winchester offered this Gallery version chambered for the .22 short only. Gallery guns have a triangular loading port which the standard models did not have. A 1938 change in the breech bolt mechanism brought about the change in the name designation from Model 62 to 62A. The left side of the receiver is roll marked "WINCHESTER". Blade front sight and adjustable rear sight. 17 groove forearm and straight grip stock with plastic butt plate marked "Winchester Repeating Arms Co." This model was discontinued in 1958. Manufactured in 1957.

This is a scarce early second model with the takedown feature and all blued frame that was produced in the early 1900's. The top of the barrel is marked "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN." with 1892 as the last patent date. "WRF" marked action face. The upper tang is fitted with a Lyman folding peep sight in addition to the standard dovetail front and semi-buckhorn rear sights. It has the 12-groove walnut forearm and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate.

This Model 1890 is a Third Model takedown that was manufactured in 1914, with the locking cut on the front top of the receiver which allows the breech bolt to lock externally. The right side of the receiver is nicely scroll and border custom engraved with three rabbits in a field scene in the center, the left side is the same engraving with two squirrels on a tree branch in the center. The top of the bolt and receiver are lightly scroll engraved. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address and the breech end of the barrel is marked " 22 LONG". Fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight, which is marked "PAT JAN.29, 1901" and a Lyman tang peep sight. Extra fancy select walnut checkered forearm and straight grip stock with a steel crescent buttplate.

This Model 1890 is a Second Model takedown with a blued frame. The right side of the receiver is nicely scroll/floral custom engraved with punch dot background and a rabbit in a field scene in the center, the left side is the same engraving with a squirrel on a tree branch in the center. The top of the bolt and receiver are engraved with a oak leaf and acorn motif with punch dot. The slide arm and breech end of the barrel are also scroll engraved. The interesting thing about this engraving is that the finish is original and the engraving is not cut through the finish, this leading one to believe this to be factory, but writer cannot verify at this time. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address/patent dates and the breech end of the barrel is marked " 22 SHORT" amid the engraving. Fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight, which is marked "PAT JAN.29, 1901". Smooth straight grip stock with 12-groove forearm and steel crescent buttplate.

This was the first slide-action ever developed exclusively for the .410 bore. Referred to by many as "Everybody's Sweetheart" this model was invented by William Roemer. The Model 42 is in effect, at least in outward appearance, a miniature Model 12. Winchester Thumb Trigger Rifle 22 L& S
This rifle was a modification of the Model 1902 without a traditional trigger. The rifle is fired by depressing the trigger with the thumb which is part of the sear and extractor located behind the bolt. Standard med-production markings and features including "THUMB TRIGGER MODEL" and 1899 and 1905 patent dates. Fixed sights and one piece straight grip stock with a black hard rubber buttplate. Winchester sold approx. 76,000 of these rifles between 1904 and 1923.

Many collectors and shooters considered the Model 63 to be the best rimfire semi-auto rifle ever produced. Manufactured in 1957 and features a dovetail front sight and adjustable rear sight. The left side of the barrel is marked "MODEL 63 .22 LONG RIFLE/ SUPER SPEED & SUPER-X". The rifle features a plain pistol grip stock and forearm with a metal forend cap and checkered steel butt plate with tubular magazine through the buttstock.

The magnum variation of the Model 61 was only produced from 1960 to 1963. It features a dovetail front sight, adjustable rear sight, the top of the takedown receiver is grooved for scope mounting, 3/4 tubular magazine, 17 groove flat bottom slide and pistol grip stock with a checkered black plastic buttplate with "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO" in a circle.

This rifle was manufactured in 1956 and features a dovetail front sight and adjustable rear sight. The left side of the barrel is marked "MODEL 63 .22 LONG RIFLE / SUPER SPEED AND SUPER-X". The receiver and forearm cap are both a bright finish. The receiver features a scroll pattern border engraving on both sides, the forearm cap is also scroll engraved. Checkered deluxe custom pistol grip stock and forearm with a checkered steel butt plate, two diamond inlay in the pistol grip, tubular magazine through the buttstock and loading port in the right side.

Winchester 1906-Rifle 22 S L LR
This is a nice example of a late production Winchester M1906 Expert model that was made in 1919. These rifle were the same as the standard 1906s but were produced with a pistol grip stock and contoured pump handle. The left side of the barrel has the standard two-line Winchester Patent and address markings with "MOD 06" on the end. It has the correct circled "WP" proof on top of the receiver and barrel and it is fitted with a Sheard Blade Marbles front sight with the factory adjustable rear sights and a Marbles adjustable folding tang rear sight. It has the all blued finish and the late production gum wood stock and contoured pump handle. The buttplate is the correct Winchester marked version.
