This is a nice example of a late production Winchester M1906 Expert model that was made in 1919. These rifle were the same as the standard 1906s but were produced with a pistol grip stock and contoured pump handle. The left side of the barrel has the standard two-line Winchester Patent and address markings with "MOD 06" on the end. It has the correct circled "WP" proof on top of the receiver and barrel and it is fitted with a Sheard Blade Marbles front sight with the factory adjustable rear sights and a Marbles adjustable folding tang rear sight. It has the all blued finish and the late production gum wood stock and contoured pump handle. The buttplate is the correct Winchester marked version.

Very fine overall with approximately 75-80% of the original blue finish with strong blue on the barrel and magazine tube with some wear and flaking in front of the loading port of the tube. The receiver shows wear and light scratches along the side of the receiver, the top from cycling the bolt and front edges and high spots. The underside of the receiver, trigger guard and lower tang area all show considerable flaking of the blue turning a brown patina. The stock and handguard are both in fine condition overall showing numerous minor scratches and pressure dents overall with 85% of the original stock finish. The buttplate is a little oversized on the top and bottom which may indicate it a old replacement. A nice example of a early boys rifle.
