This is a scarce early second model with the takedown feature and all blued frame that was produced in the early 1900's. The top of the barrel is marked "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN." with 1892 as the last patent date. "WRF" marked action face. The upper tang is fitted with a Lyman folding peep sight in addition to the standard dovetail front and semi-buckhorn rear sights. It has the 12-groove walnut forearm and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate.

Excellent, with over 97% of the original blue finish. There are a few light handling marks scattered about, as well as some streaks of brown on the sides of the receiver and limited fading on the high edges. The stock has a few minor dings and scratches, but is otherwise excellent. The action is smooth.
