Type: Revolver
Gauge: 32 RF
Barrel: 3 Inch Round/Solid Rib
Finish: NICKEL/Casehardened

Catalog Page: 221
Class: Antique
Description:

Marked as above on top of the barrel rib, "J.M. MARLIN. NEW. HAVEN. CT, USA PAT. JULY 1 1873" on the left side of the barrel. While the floral scroll pattern engraving with intersecting arcs is generally considered to be "New York" engraving, this was more likely done in New Haven, probably by one of the Ulrich brothers. This has more coverage than normal with the sides and top almost completely covered and half coverage on the cylinder.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with approximately 97% original nickel overall, flaked at the muzzle and front of the cylinder, worn on the extractor post. The casehardening has worn on the lower half of the hammer. Leaving bright colors on the top and rear. The excellent original grips have very slight wear at the high spots. Mechanically excellent.
