Manufactured in the first year of production, 1871. Fitted with German silver half moon front sight and notched rear. The barrel is marked in two lines "COLT'S HOUSE PISTOL/HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." Brass spur trigger frame with rare blue finished cylinder, hammer, barrel and trigger. Serial number stamped on the butt and on the under side of the ejector housing. Equipped with varnished walnut grips with matching numbers.

Very good plus. The barrel has an even gray patina with light surface pitting and showing signs of cleaning. The brass frame is excellent with a few scattered scratches. The cylinder compliments the barrel and has an even gray patina mixed with some light surface pitting and traces of original blue in protected areas. The lightly sanded grips are very good and retain traces of the original varnish.
