This is one of approximately 2,500 house pistols produced with a unfluted round cylinder. Rare silver plated frame and blued barrel. Fixed front sight with top strap notched rear sight. The top of the barrel is marked "+COLTS HOUSE PISTOL/ HARTFORD, CT. USA+" and "PAT. SEP:19 1871" on the notched sight. The serial number is stamped on the butt as well as under the cylinder pin. Smooth oiled walnut grips.

Period refinished. The barrel retains traces of original blue finish thinning down the length of the barrel, the balance a smooth brown patina. The cylinder pin is a crude replacement. The frame retains nearly all the original silver plated finish turning to a pleasant aged darkened patina and showing little wear. The cylinder compliments the barrel with minor traces of original blue finish mixed with a smooth artificial brown patina overall light pitting. The grips are excellent with a few pressure dents and scratches.
