Description:

Five shot revolver licensed by Smith & Wesson before 1869. Marked "PATENTED APRIL 3d. 1855" on the cylinder in addition to the normal Remington marks on the barrel. The patent date was Rollin White’s. The conversion number, 1121, appears on the bottom of the barrel in front of the loading lever stud and on the left side of the frame under the grip. The cylinder has safety notches between each chamber at the rear edge. The meaning of the number "31" on the right side of the frame and barrel is not known. The nickel plated shoulder stock attachment is screwed to the butt. It is not marked.

Rating Definition:

Excellent+ 95% blue on frame and cylinder, 20% on barrel which has been cleaned except at muzzle. 95% casehardening on hammer, 95% nickel on shoulder stock attachment and trigger guard. Mechanically good. Bore is fine.
