This is an example of a WWII German P38 pistol as manufactured by the Walther company. The left side of the slide is marked with "P.38" followed by the serial number and "ac 44" (in-line) which was the wartime code for the Walther factory. The left side of the frame is marked with the serial number and the "eagle / 359" acceptance proof. The right side of the slide has the single eagle firing proof and the two "eagle / 359" acceptance proofs. The left side of the barrel lug also has the same "eagle / 359" acceptance proof with the serial number marked on the front. The left side of the locking block is marked with the eagle firing proof, the right with the "eagle / 359" proof and the bottom is marked "857". It has the red/ brown Bakelite military ribbed grips with a wartime magazine that is marked with "P.38v" on the left lower side of the body with "eagle / 359" on the spine. Complete with a black leather two flap holster and extra magazine. The holster is marked "gxy 1944" between the belt loops with a large "P38" behind the loops. The serial number is ink marked on the inside. The extra magazine is marked "P38 v / U" on the lower left side and has the "eagle/359' proof on the spine.

Excellent. The pistol retains 98% of the original finish with some high edge wear and thinning on the rear of the frame and front strap. There is some light spotting on the front strap as well in addition to light scattered scratches and dings. The grips are excellent with a few scattered minor dings. The holster is good with edge wear and some wear on the flap. All the stitching is tight. All markings on the pistol are clear. Mechanically excellent.
