Description:

By Lieutenant Edward W. Very, U.S.N. 9-3/4 inches wide. 12-1/2 inches high, 76 pages plus 30 full page plates. Paris, 1885.The Hotchkiss looked like a Gatling Gun with its number of revolving barrels, but it only has one breechblock which fires the bottom barrel in a reciprocating motion. The Hotchkiss was only made in larger sizes for Naval use and was used more with exploding shells than the Gatling

Rating Definition:

The pages are fine. The cover has stains and mildew damage with some losses to the spine but is still solid.
