This is an excellent example of a Post-Korean War M1 Garand Rifle manufactured by Springfield Armory. The barrel is a late production version marked SA-8-55. The metal parts have the dark gray-green parkerized finish found on original production Springfield M1 rifles from this period. It has the correct late production SA marked parts with a late production gas cylinder assembly. The rifle has an oiled walnut stock and hand guards and is equipped with a green web sling. The stock is stamped with the Defense Acceptance Stamp on the left side below the receiver and an encircled "P" proof behind the trigger guard.

Excellent with 98% of the parkerized finish remaining. The wood is excellent as reoiled with a few minor pressure dents on the left side of the buttstock and a couple on the right side at the operating rod handle. All markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
