Description:

4-7/8 inch long. The top of the medal is made up of two gold triangles overlaid with a "GL3" monogram, also in gold. Suspended from that is a medal made up of a square and triangle surrounding a checkerboard containing twelve cabochon cut gem stones. A tall miter (bishop's hat) surmounts the checkerboard. The square is engraved on the reverse "Jan. 24 / 1898. / Presented / by / HOLTON / R.A. / CHAPTER / Danvers, Mass. / TO / M.E. GEORGE J. SAWYER, P.H.P." 1.5 oz troy, 48.3 grams.
