Description:

Model 1900 American Eagle Luger Pistol. The serial number is in the accepted serial number range of 6100-7099 for the 1000 Model 1900 pistols purchased by the U.S. Army for troop trials in 1901. The pistol lacks the export markings found on commercial Model 1900 American Eagle Luger pistols. Front sight has been altered, but otherwise all features are standard. The pistol has a rust blue finish with straw colored small components. Grips are finely checkered walnut. The magazine has a plated body with an unnumbered wooden bottom. The pistol chamber is marked with the United States American Eagle. The front toggle link has the "DWM" script monogram. The serial number is located on the front of the frame and the bottom of the barrel. The partial serial number is stamped on the small components and the grips. The DWM inspector mark is in the receiver well. Included with the gun is a custom made western-style holster with finely decorated scroll patterns and cleaning rod, and a copy of the book "1900 Luger: U.S. Test Trials, Revised Edition" by Michael Reese II.

Rating Definition:

Good, with approximately 20% of the faded original blue finish. A smooth gray patina has formed on the grip straps, with a mixed brown and gray on the barrel and frame, along with some mild spotting, handling marks, and high edge wear. The front sight is a crude replacement. The grips are good, with a chip missing at the extractor and some wear and scratching. The holster is very good, with some cracking and wear, though the leather remains supple. The safety needs work. The ejector is cracked.
