Description:

This is a very good example of a 1906 Commercial Luger with the distinctive "AMERICAN EAGLE" crest on the chamber. Directly under the frame serial number it is marked "GERMANY" and it is fitted with a nickel plated wood base magazine. The trigger, thumb safety, breakdown switch, and magazine release are done in a "straw" finish, while the toggle pin and grip screws are finished in a niter blue. The full serial number is located on the frame and the bottom of the barrel. Partial serial numbers are stamped on the bottom of the side plate, takedown latch, rear toggle link. It has the correct Crown over B and U proofs on the left side of the barrel extension and the full Crown over B, U, and G proofs on the underside of the barrel.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus with approximately 30-40% of the faded original blue finish remaining with wear on the edges and high spots, such as the side plate hump, edges of the trigger guard, and muzzle area. The balance of the finish has turned a dull blue/brown patina, with 10-15% of the straw color remaining mostly on the trigger. The grips are in good condition showing even honest wear on both sides, with several areas of light pressure dents or flat spots on the checkering. It has matching numbers on the various parts.
