Description:

This is a very good example of a WWII German 1939 dated Luger Pistol. The top of the chamber is marked "1939" for the year of manufacture and the top of the toggle is marked "42", the wartime code for the Mauser factory. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with the double "Eagle/655" Waffenampt proofs next to the single Nazi eagle firing proof, the right side of the barrel is marked with a small Eagle firing proof, and the left side has the single small "eagle / 65" Waffenampt proof. The underside of the barrel is marked with the serial number and the "8,82" bore diameter. The extractor and safety area are correctly marked "GELADEN" and "GESICHERT" and it has the correct fixed rear sight with the inverted "v" front sight. Blued magazine with an aluminum base renumbered to the gun. The brown leather holster has no legible markings on the rear and inside the flap it has some ink stampings of "1913 / 3F I", with part of the body cut away to expand the opening, showing most of the grip when the flap is opened.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with approximately 75% of the original blue finish with even honest thinning overall on the left side of the muzzle, the side plate, the right frame rail, and the grip straps. The moderately worn grips are very good, with some scratches and pressure dents. Action is excellent. The modified holster is poor, with some cracking, scrapes, and wear.
