Description:

The name is stamped in tiny letters on the top strap. It is in its original green cardboard box which is marked on top of the lid "TRAMP'S TERROR / REVOLVER / 22 CALIBRE / MANUFACTURED BY THE / WESTERN GUN WORKS / CHICAGO, ILL." The box also contains a 3-3/4 inch iron cleaning rod and an iron screwdriver. The latter is marked "*IVER JOHNSON* /FITCHBERG" on the arms, indicating the actual maker of the revolver. There were several retail outlets in Chicago with grandiose names at the end of the 19th century. Guns bearing their names were made by whichever manufacture would make them for the least money. Note the use of pins instead of screws for the pivot points.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 95% bright nickel mixed with scattered specks of light surface rust. The grips show little wear. Mechanically fine. The box has a glue repair along one side where the hammer has broken through. The label is scuffed with wear on the edges.
