Description:

Marked only "RANGER No 2" on top of the frame over the cylinder. The Ranger series was made by several makers, this one by Edwin L. Dickinson and his brother of Springfield, Mass. Their products have few identifying features. The smooth five shot cylinders and lack of markings probably being the most common. There is a plated brass blade front sight but no rear sight. The two piece orange box has a green label on top printed in black "RANGER /REVOLVER / NO.2. / 32 CALIBRE" with a double line border around the edges. The original price marking on the bottom, $6.00, as well the cost of $4.50 (in code) indicate that it was sold by a small dealer, probably on special order.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 95% nickel remaining. The left grip has been cracked and repaired. Mechanically needs a hand spring. The same corner on the lid and bottom if the box are both broken, otherwise minor chips and scuffs to the box.
