Manufactured between 1901 and 1920, the Model 1901 was a redesign of the Model 1887 shotgun and was offered in 10 gauge only. This shotgun was manufactured in 1909. The barrel has been shortened to it's present length with a single brass bead sight and is choked cylinder. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address followed by "MODEL 1901 10 GA.". The left side of the frame is marked with the intertwined WRA Co. logo and "BUREAU COUNTY",( probably for the Bureau Co. (Ill.) Sheriff's Department ). The upper tang is marked "WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK". Smooth forearm and round knob pistol grip stock with a checkered steel buttplate.

Fine. The shotgun retains 85% of the original blue finish with thinning muzzle and high edge wear. There are scattered minor overall scratches, light spotting and some small areas of brown patina. The wood has been freshened with numerous scattered minor dings, dents and scratches on the forearm and left side of the buttstock. The right side of the buttstock has a few scattered minor dings and scratches. Markings are all clear. The action is fine.
