Beautiful Schuetzen by one of the preeminent target rifle makers of the late 1800's. Medium weight round part octagonal barrel with globe front sight, no provision for a rear sight and a vernier tang sight with three inch staff. Double set triggers are gold washed. Mounted on a very highly figured French walnut forearm with checkered horn tipped semi-Schnabel and heavy Schuetzen buttstock with hard pistol grip checkered wrist and deep cheekpiece with heavy, nickeled, iron Scheutzen buttplate. Top of the barrel is engraved "A.O. ZISCHANG MAKER. SYRACUSE. N.Y." Receiver is marked "BORCHARDT PATENT / SHARPS RIFLE CO. BRIDGEPORT C / U.S.A." above the serial number.

Period custom finished barrel retains about 95% plus custom finish turning plum close to the receiver. Receiver retains 98% plus of the satin custom blue. Stock has a repaired chip by top tang and forearm has a crack in horn tip, otherwise wood is as custom finished sound with light handling marks. Buttplate retains about 70% of the original nickel.
