The Winchester Model 61 is often considered to the best hammerless pump 22 rifle ever produced. It is a high quality rifle which came in a relatively large number of configurations. This particular rifle was manufactured in 1939 with the correct 11 groove small forearm. It also features a dovetailed blade front sight set with a silver bead, adjustable sporting rear sight, smooth pistol grip stock and a checkered steel buttplate. The rifle is marked on the left side of the barrel below the rear sight with the model and caliber markings as well as the "WINCHESTER/ PROOF STEEL" marking and "WINCHESTER/ TRADE MARK". The right side of the barrel is marked with the two line Winchester address including the patent number. The two Winchester proofs are correctly located at the breach on the barrel and frame.

Excellent with approximately 98% of the original finish remaining and most of the finish loss confined to the high edges and sides of the barrel from cycling the action as well as some light muzzle wear. The forearm slide and buttstock remain in excellent condition with only minor pressure dents and light surface scratches.
