This rifle was produced by the Kokura Arsenal and is fitted with the earlier small 2.5 power scope. The left side of the receiver has the serial number "6601" next to the intertwined symbol for the Kokura arsenal. The chrysanthemum has been ground off however the Kanji markings are intact. It has the long staff adjustable rear sight, with the inverted "V" front sight with the squared guards and is fitted with a monopod on the middle barrel band. The scope is marked 2.5x10o over NIKKO over, No 25065 with assembly number 87 on the back and rifle serial number 436 on the front and is fitted with a reproduction rubber eye cup. It has the full length hardwood stock and handguard with the finger grooves on the side of the forearm. It is complete with the original cleaning rod and plastic muzzle cover.

Very good overall with 96% of the original blue finish with minor edge and high spot wear on the bluing with a little more thinning on the floorplate with some minor light dulling or browning on the lower rear tang. The scope also has 97% of the original black painted finish showing wear on the edges with clear markings and optics. The stock and handguard are both in very good condition showing numerous light pressure dents, dings typical of field use with some and scratches overall. Both have a nice matching finish. The stock however has two large cracks on each side of the pistol grip area emanating from the rear of the rear trigger guard screw that extend towards the butt. The two on the left side are about 1 1/2 to 2 inches long while the two on the right side are approximately 5 inches long.
