Description:

The Type 99 was produced in two lengths. The rifle version has a barrel that is 31 inches while the short rifle has a barrel that is 25 1/2 inches. This is a short rifle. The receiver is marked "99 Type." Also stamped on the receiver are the remnants of the royal chrysanthemum, which has been removed and replaced with two concentric circles. On the side of the receiver is stamped the Kanji character "na" indicating that the rifle was produced by the Nagoya Army Arsenal. There is no serial number. All parts are unnumbered. The wood is clearly stamped with the Nagoya Army Arsenal inspection mark. The original cleaning rod is present.

Rating Definition:

This rifle is in excellent condition with approximately 94% of the original finish remaining. The wood is in excellent original condition with a clear inspection mark. There are some handling dents and bruises as are typically found on Japanese rifles. The bore is bright with strong rifling.
