Description:

This revolver is an approximately late 1864 or 1865 production and very near the end of the production for established Confederate revolvers, thought to be in the 3,000 to 10,000 serial range. The Kerr revolver was a high quality weapon that saw extensive service in the Confederacy. Marked "KERR'S PATENT 10026" on the right side of the frame and "LONDON / ARMOURY" in an oval stamp on the left side of the frame. The left quarter flat of the barrel is marked "L.A.C." and two proof marks, the cylinder face and inside of the trigger guard are marked "125" and the serial number is engraved on the cylinder with proofs stamped on each chamber. Checkered grips with a steel butt cap and lanyard ring.

Rating Definition:

Good. All metal surfaces have been cleaned with overall scattered minor pitting. The cylinder and right frame markings are still visible, the remaining marks are very clear. The grips are good with numerous shallow gouges on the upper left and scattered minor dings and crisp checkering. The action is good. From the Val Forgett collection of Kerr revolvers.
