Description:

Manufactured 1853 - 1857. Bead front sight and V-notch in the long spur hammer for the rear sight. The unique loading lever is mounted on the left side, cycles upward and is marked with the serial number on the rear. The barrel has a light zigzag line around the muzzle and the top flat is marked "84 LONG ACRE LONDON", the lower left flat has two proof marks and the rear grip strap is marked "BY HER MAJESTY'S ROYAL LETTERS PATENT". Both sides of the frame have light scroll engraving as does the sides and top of the hammer. The left side of the frame is marked "WEBLEY'S PATENT" in a banner inside the scrolls. The smooth cylinder has a single engraved line along the front edge with a small scroll between each chamber. The chambers are marked 1 through 5 on the rear edge at the percussion nipples with a proof mark between each. The checkered grips have an engraved escutcheon plate surrounding the screw and the grip cap has light engraving surrounding the lanyard ring.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus with traces of original blue finish visible. A gray patina with scattered spotting covers the entire metal surface of the gun except for the underside rear barrel lug (forward of cylinder only) which is bright blue. Few visible marks. The grips are fine and have very crisp checkering with little wear.
