Description:

Approximately 23,000 of these revolvers were manufactured in the late 1850s and early 1860s, most of them for the government. Standard "STARR. ARMS. Co. NEW. YORK." address on left side of frame, "STARR'S PATENT JAN. 15, 1856" on the right. Serial numbers match on the front of the barrel receiver, on the cylinder, in the hammer well and front of the hammer. There are small "K" inspection marks on most of the components. The revolver is fitted with a smooth one piece walnut grip with a faint cartouche on each side.

Rating Definition:

Good, with traces of the mostly cleaned off original blue finish, showing a mixed gray patina on the surface. Most of the original blue is in the protected areas, especially around the trigger guard and cylinder. Some light pitting around the breech and a few minor handling marks are also visible. Grips are very good, with some minor pressure dents and scratches. Action is very good.
