The Model 63 took the place of the model 1903 in 1933 in an attempt by Winchester to solve the problem of having to use a special .22 caliber cartridge in the gun to operate the blowback system. This rifle was manufactured in 1947 featuring a dovetail front sight and adjustable sporting rear sight. The left side of the barrel is marked " MODEL 63-22 L.RIFLE-SUPERSPEED & SUPER-X". Smooth pistol grip stock and forearm with a metal forend cap and smooth steel butt plate with tubular magazine through the buttstock.
