Single brass bead sight on concave rib marked "J.H. SMITH & Co EXTRA QUALITY DAMASCUS STEEL". The casehardened action and hammers are scroll engraved, with ducks in flight on the underside of the action and trigger guard, and both lock plates have hunting dogs behind the hammers, game birds in flight ahead, and "J.H. SMITH & Co". Extra fancy checkered English walnut forearm with a horn tip insert and pistol grip stock with a horn grip cap, silver initial plate on the underside, and a serrated horn buttplate.

Very good, with 60% of the original brown, showing some light wear on the barrel, with a strong acid etched Damascus pattern. Traces of the casehardening colors remain in the protected areas, with the rest having faded to a smooth gray patina. Good stock, with scattered dings and scratches. Good action.
