This was the first slide-action ever developed exclusively for the .410 bore. Invented by William Roemer and manufactured by Winchester from 1933 until 1963 this shotgun is referred to by many as "Everybody's Sweetheart" The Model 42 is in effect, at least in outward appearance, a miniature Model 12. It has superb balance and the same mechanical superiority as it's big brother. This particular shotgun was manufactured in 1936 and features a red front sight on a ventilated rib with a 3 inch chamber and full choke. The left side of the rib is marked "SIMMONS GUN SPECIALTIES INC. KANSAS CITY MO." The two assembly arrows are marked behind the slide on the magazine tube and the serial number stamped twice under the receiver. Checkered forearm and pistol-grip stock with a black composite Winchester buttplate.

Very good as refurbished with 98% blue finish remaining. The vent rib is an after-market addition as well as the "Tru-Glo" type front sight. The wood is excellent with sharp checkering and minor handling marks.
