A) U.S. Marked High Standard Model H-D Semi Automatic Pistol

Description:

This is a nice example of a late Army contract pistol probably produced between 1942-1944. Approximately 44,000 were produced for the U.S. government and this specific pistol has the 4 1/2 inch barrel with the fixed front and rear sights and external hammer and safety. The left side of the slide is marked "HI-STANDARD over U.S.A. MODEL H-D" and the left side of the frame has the five line address and patent markings of the High Standard company. The right side of the frame has the standard markings of "PROPERTY OF U.S." and the top of the barrel is marked "PROPERTY OF U.S.A.". It has the late style checkered black plastic grips. It has an all parkerized finish which may indicate arsenal rework.

Rating Definition:

Excellent condition overall with 98% of the arsenal reparkerized finish. The grips are in very good condition showing minor chips and dings in a few spots.

Description:

This is a nice example of a late production Colt Commando snub nose recover. These were produced from 1942 to 1945 and was primarily intended for issue to police forces, defense plant guards, and other non-military armed personnel. It has the fixed blade front sight and notch receiver rear sight, with standard Colt markings on the left side of the barrel. The frame is marked with the ordinance bomb on the left side. It has the military style brown checkered plastic grips.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall with 98% of the original military style parkerized finish, with just a slight wear on the edges and high spots, the muzzle area of the barrel with a slight cylinder drag line. The grips are in excellent condition showing only minor wear with no cracks or damage.
