Description:

The Smith & Wesson Military & Police revolver was issued throughout WWII and into Korea. It was called the "Victory Model" during WWII and affixed with a "V" prefix to the serial number. The left side of the barrel is marked "SMITH & WESSON" and the right side of the barrel is marked "38 S&W SPECIAL CTG". The left side of the top strap is marked "U.S. NAVY" and the ordnance bomb is stamped on the toe of the butt ahead of the serial number. It has a fixed half moon front sight and a rear square notch sight. With the late wartime expedient matte sand blasted and parkerized finish, casehardened trigger and hammer, and smooth walnut grips with a lanyard loop on the bottom of the grip frame with the appropriate "V" prefix serial number.

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus. The revolver retains 99% plus original finish and all of the bright case colors on the trigger and hammer. The grips are very good plus with a few minor dents, mostly on the left panel. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
