Manufactured between 1942 and 1945 featuring a forged round blade front sight with a square notch rear, casehardened trigger and hammer and smooth walnut grips. The butt is marked with the V prefixed serial number behind the lanyard ring. The left side of the top strap is marked with the ordnance bomb followed by "U.S. PROPERTY G.H.D." The barrel has the standard two line address on the top with "SMITH & WESSON" on the left and "38 S&W SPECIAL CTG" on the right. The right side of the frame is marked "MADE IN U.S.A." below the cylinder and has the S&W logo at the rear. The serial numbers on the butt, barrel, and cylinder all match. The rear face of the cylinder is marked with a "P" and "S". Complete with an unmarked brown leather flap holster.

Excellent. The revolver retains 98% of the original parkerized finish with some minor scuffs, high edge wear and a faint drag line on the cylinder. The hammer and trigger retain almost all of the original bright case colors. The grips are very good with several scattered minor dents and dings. The markings are clear. The action is excellent. The holster is excellent with some light stains and a few minor scuffs. The stitching is tight.
