This is an original Mauser Model K98 that has been factory refurbished and brought to near-new military condition and original configuration. It was originally manufactured in Germany by the Mauser factory at the time of WWI during the reign of Kaiser Wilhelm and was subsequently seized by the Nazi party and intended for use in what would become WWII. It features a ramped blade front sight, tangent rear sight, blued barrel and receiver, and a nickel bolt and buttplate. The top of the receiver ring is marked with "DEUTSCHE WAFFEN -UND/ MUNITIONSFABRIKEN/ BERLIN/ 1917" while the barrel at the receiver ring is marked "210/38 Ru." followed by the "eagle/280" proof three times. The right side of the receiver ring is marked with "crown/F" followed by "crown/C" followed by "crown/W" proof. All of the visible serial numbers match. Complete in a "Mitchell's Mausers'" box with a letter of provenance and papers.

It features a hooded ramp front sight with tangent rear sight, blued barrel and receiver with a nickel platted buttplate and bolt, and two blue barrel bands. The top of the receiver ring is marked with "dot/ 1944" and the barrel has the factory overhaul marks. The left side of the receiver is marked "Mod. 98". It is complete in a "Mitchell's Mausers'" box with papers and a letter of provenance.

Excellent as factory refinished with 99% of the finish remaining. The stock is new.
