R.F. Sedgely produced this specialized bolt-action rifle using the Springfield Model 1903 action. Features include a raised hooded blade front sight and an adjustable Lyman receiver sight. The barrel is marked "R.F. SEDGELY. INC. PHILA. PA. U.S.A." on top above the forend and "CAL .30. 06" on the left side of the barrel next to the receiver. Receiver ring has fine checkering, with elaborate scroll engraving on the sides of the receiver, both ends of the barrel, trigger guard and tangs. The floorplate is engraved with the scene of a large white-tailed deer surrounded by more scroll work. Bright polished bolt with bolt safety. Checkered one piece walnut pistol grip stock and forend with a black horn, raised cheekpiece, scroll engraved blue steel grip cap and finely checkered steel buttplate with hinged trapdoor highlighted with scroll engraving. Complete with brown leather sling.

Very good as professionally embellished, with 98% blue finish remaining. A smooth gray patina is forming around the edges of the muzzle and front sight, along with some very minor handling marks. The stock is excellent, with light pressure dents and sharp checkering. All markings are clear and the engraving is sharp. The action is excellent.
