According to a letter (copy provided) from the Colt factory, this revolver was 1 of 24 sent to Britain & Co, by way of the Pacific Hardware and Steel Company of San Francisco on April 4, 1907. Except for the "Not Listed" grips, all features are confirmed by the letter. The barrel is marked with the short two line address on top and "COLT D.A. 41" on the left, and the frame is marked with the three line, three date patent mark next to the circled Rampant Colt. Blue and casehardened finish, with niter blue on the trigger, hammer, and screws. The black, hard rubber birds head grips are checkered and have the Rampant Colt trademark in an oval at the top. The complete matching serial number is located on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard, and back strap. Dark maroon pasteboard box with top label reading "COLT'S DOUBLE ACTION PISTOL/ COLT'S/ Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Co./ HARTFORD, CONN.", side labels reading "WITH EJECTOR." and "6 Colt's D.A. Pistol .38/ RUBBER BLUE", and a yellow internal label advertising Ideal reloading tools.

Excellent plus with 99% of the bright, original high polish blue finish, showing a few light scratches and handling marks overall. The case colors are also 99% intact, with brilliant color and hints of silvering at the edges. Grips are excellent plus, with crisp checkering and some minor dings. Box is very fine, with some tearing and fading of the labels, minor corner separation, and tape repair. Action is excellent.
