Harpers Ferry Armory Muskets And Carbines 1819-Rifle 52
The Hall Rifle is an extremely significant U.S. military firearm. The Model 1819 Rifle was the first breech loading military arm produced in large quantities and adopted as a regulation weapon by the U.S. This Model 1819 Rifle has a "1831" dated breechblock and pin-fastened barrel bands. The breechblock is marked: "J.H. HALL / H. FERRY / US / 1831" in four lines perpendicular to the bore. The barrel, receiver and furniture have a brown finish and the breech is casehardened. Steel ramrod with a button head and the front sight doubles as a bayonet lug. The stock is oil-finished black walnut. The rifle was converted to percussion by grinding the pan flush with the top of the breech, adding a musket nipple in the old flash hole and installing a new hammer with a percussion top. This particular rifle is the Type II transitional conversion having the old style spur release device for the breech block. Approximately 4,200 of these rifles were converted 1841 - 1842

Whitney Arms Company 1861 Rifle 69
This example was part of a contract of 10,000 rifles manufactured by Whitney for the U.S. Navy between 1861 and 1864. Blade front sight and long range adjustable (up to 1,000 yards) ladder rear sight. The left side rear upper barrel flat is marked with the "V / P / eagle head" proof and inspection marks and it is stamped "F.C.W" just below the proof on the left side. The barrel is held on by a single barrel band and an end cap, the barrel band is marked with a "U" on the right side, full length replacement iron ramrod with a large head with a hole through it. The lock is marked with the eagle shield motif over "U.S." in front of the hammer and " WHITNEY-VILLE" further forward below the bolster and dated "1864" vertically behind the hammer. The serial number "8319" appears on the upper tang. One piece full length plain straight grip stock with iron military buttplate and sling swivels mounted below the buttstock and on rear barrel band. The trigger guard is equipped with the finger spur. The tang of the buttplate is marked "U.S.", the left side of the stock opposite of the lock plate features a cartouche with the initials "F.C.W."

Remington Arms Inc 1863-Rifle 58 cal
Manufactured circa 1862 - 1865 with a total of 12,501 produced, this rifle was also known as the "Zouave Rifle". The barrel was blue, the hammer and lock casehardened and the mountings are brass. The lock is marked with the eagle/shield over "U.S." and "REMINGTON'S / ILION, N.Y." in front of the hammer and dated "1863" behind the hammer. . The top of the barrel is dated 1863 with " V / P eagle head" proofs to the left and the left flat is marked "STEEL" followed by "K K A". The front sight is fixed and the rear sight is a three leaf type. The left side stock flat is marked with "BH" and "HDJ" cartouches, it is fitted with a brass patch box on the right side with an extra nipple and the buttplate tang is marked "U.S.". There is a bayonet lug mounted on the right side of the barrel and it has a iron tulip head ram rod. The Model 1863 was one of he best made and designed military arms of the Civil War Era. The origin of the name "Zouave" has yet been revealed, but in official documents and the U.S. contract it was called the "Harpers Ferry Pattern".

Springfield Armory U.S. 1861 Musket 58 percussion
This is an early example of an 1861 pattern rifle-musket, the primary Civil War musket as used by the Union forces. Although nearly 1,000,000 M1861 Rifle-Muskets were manufactured by Springfield Armory and various contractors during the Civil War, Springfield Armory muskets manufactured during the first years of production saw hard service and are desirable. The lock plate has the standard "eagle/shield" and "U.S./SPRINGFIELD" markings ahead of the hammer and is dated "1861 behind it. The barrel is absent of any proof or inspection marks or manufacturing date. The lock, trigger guard, barrel, barrel bands and buttplate are "arsenal bright". It has a two leaf folding rear sight, a tulip head steel ramrod, bolster with a cleanout screw and wooden barrel plug. The stock has been varnished and is absent of any cartouches.

1) Zouave bayonet, 20" blade and ribbed solid brass hilt marked "15" on the cross guard and "B.H" on the back. Black leather sheath with brass tip and throat. 2) Collins Whitney Plymouth USN bayonet, 22 1/2" blade with anchor mark and Hartford address, and a solid brass hilt. Serial number 3429 is stamped on top of the grip. With a brass furnished black leather sheath.

Colt 1855-Rifle Carbine 56 percussion
The Model 1855 was manufactured from 1856 to 1864 with a total production of a little more than 4,400. The top strap is marked "COL. COLT HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." , the serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, a cylinder flute is marked with the Sept. 10th patent date and the left side of the frame is marked "COLT'S PATENT / unreadable". In addition the right side barrel is marked with the French "star / E" over the Belgian perron mark over the Belgian "crown / R" proofmark. One of the cylinder flutes is marked with the Belgian crown over oval containing "E / LG / star" proofmark. The right side of the frame at the breech is marked with the "star / E" over the Belgian perron mark. It is equipped with a brass blade front sight and a two leaf folding rear sight marked "300" and "600" and "100" in the center. All parts were blue except for the hammer and loading lever which were casehardened and the trigger guard is brass. Saddle ring and stud mounted on the left rear of the frame. The stock is straight grip with an iron buttplate, short forearm and buttstock compartment.

Sharps Rifle Manufacturing Company New Model 1865 Carbine 50-70
This particular Sharps cartridge conversion carbine has a blued barrel, casehardened barrel band, receiver, lock plate, lever, buttplate and an oil finished black walnut stock and forearm. Fixed iron block front sight with correct Lawrence patent rear sight. The left side barrel flat is marked "F" and "E. A.W.", the top is marked only "NEW MODEL", the remainder unreadable behind the sight and no other markings are visible. The receiver has three sets of markings, "R.S. LAWRENCE' PAT./APRIL 12th 1859." behind the hammer and "C. SHARPS' PAT./OCT. 5th 1852" in the middle of the lock plate both on the right as well as "C.SHARPS' PAT/SEPT. 12th 1848" on the left side of the receiver. It also has the Lawrence patent marks on the rear sight, saddle ring bar and ring on the left side of the stock wrist, a boxed script "EF" cartouche above the ring bar and "DFC" on the left side of the buttstock. The stock is correct without a patch box.

Joslyn Firearms Company 1864-Carbine 52 RF
This is an example of a Model 1864 Joslyn breech-loading carbine that was purchased by the Ordnance Department from the Joslyn Fire Arms Company of Stonington, Connecticut .The carbine has the casehardened iron mountings and hooded firing pin that distinguish the Model 1864 Carbine from the brass mounted Model 1862 Carbine. The carbine has a blued barrel and oiled walnut stock. The barrel is fitted with a two-leaf, folding, rear sight. The lock plate is marked: "JOSLYN FIRE ARMS CO. / STONINGTON CONN / 1864" ahead of the hammer. The rear of the breechblock is marked with the 1861 and 1862 patent dates and the serial number, "14694" is located on the top of the breechblock. The heel of the buttplate is marked: "US". Joslyn was an effective and popular carbine that was widely issued to Federal Cavalry throughout the Civil War.

Tripplet & Scott Meridan Manufacturing Company Repeating-Carbine
This is an example of a late production Civil War era Triplet and Scott carbine. These carbines have a very unique breech loading mechanism that swings to the right side to pick up a cartridge housed in a loading tube below the receiver. They were produced right at the end of the civil war; consequently, few saw actual use, with most being sold on a state contract to the militia of Kentucky. Approximately 5000 total of this breech loading model were made, and of that only 2000 were produced as carbines, (22 inch barrel), making this a very scarce carbine. The top of the tang is marked "TRIPPLET & SCOTT / PATENT DEC 6 1864" and the left side of the receiver is marked "MERIDAN MANFG Co. / MERRRIDAN CONN.". The left side of the breech area has the very small marking of "KENTUCKY" signifying a state contract carbine.

Starr Arms Company 1858 Carbine 52 RF
One of approximately 5,000 Cartridge Carbines produced by Starr Arms Company of Yonkers, New York. This carbine is a 52 caliber rimfire, single shot with a falling blockbreech mechanism. The lock is marked "STARR ARMS CO. / YONKERS, N.Y." and the upper tang is marked "STARRS PATENT / SEPT. 14TH 1858. The top of the barrel in front of the rear sight is marked "STARR ARMS X YOUNKERS N.Y.", the serial number appears on the right rear at the breech and "S.T.B." on the opposite. Fixed front and two leaf rear sights, saddle ring and staple mounted on the left rear of the receiver and smooth forearm and straight grips stock with a steel buttplate.

Single shot rifle with a target weight barrel, a dovetailed blade front and notch rear sight. The left side of the action is marked "EDWARD MAYNARD" above the patent dates next to "1878". The right side is marked "MANUFACTURED BY/ MASS. ARMS CO./ CHICOPEE FALLS". The tang is mounted with a venire mid-range peep sight. Smooth walnut straight grip stock with a rifle type steel buttplate and no forearm. Complete with an extra 26 inch part octagon smooth bore barrel measuring approximately 20 gauge and marked "7192" with a single brass bead sight.

Sharps & Hankins 1862 Navy Carbine 52 RF
One of approximately 6, 686 Model 1862 Sharps & Hankins purchased by the U.S. Navy between 1862-1865. The carbine features the unique leather barrel cover to protect the blue barrel from rust. The leather is secured by two screws at the breech The frame is casehardened with the 2nd Model floating firing pin mounted in the recoil shield. The stock is an oil-finished walnut with a brass buttplate. The barrel has a brass blade front sight (worn or filed down) and a tangent rear sight graduated to 800 yards. The right side of the receiver is marked: "SHARPS / & / HANKINS / and PHILADA" and the left side is marked: "SHARPS / PATENT / 1859". The serial number is located on the upper tang, on the lever bar, the underside of the barrel and the underside of the frame under the lever. The carbine has no visible inspection proof or acceptance marks. Smooth straight grip stock with brass buttplate and a sling swivel.

Peabody Single Shot Rifle 43 Spanish
These rifles were actually developed during the early part of the Civil War period, and were never able to get into full production for the Government before the war ended. Subsequent sales were primarily military sales to foreign countries both in Europe and South America. The left side of the receiver is marked "PEABODY'S PAT./ JULY 22 1862/ MAN'F'D BY/ PROVIDENCE TOOL Co./ PROV. R.I.". The left side of the buttstock has a small boxed "WB" cartouche and most of the various components; hammer, upper and lower receiver, breech bolt, lock mechanism, butt plate sling bar base and lower tang all have a single sub inspector's letter proof similar to US contract weapons. The top rear section of the barrel and top of the receiver have a single "Crown V" proof that is indicative of the early British view and acceptance proofs associated with the London Proof house.

Unmarked double barrel over/under rifle, side hammers with checkered spurs, octagon barrels, brass blade front and open fixed rear sights, two triggers and brass finger grip style trigger guard. The side lock is marked "H.B. WILLIAMS" directly behind the hammers, no other markings on the gun. A brass tipped, wooden ram rod is attached to each side of the barrels. It is fitted with a replacement straight grip, perch belly style stock made of walnut with a brass deer inset on each side, a brass lock plate, and a brass crescent buttplate.

Manufactured from 1867 to 1869 with a total production of only about 200 in the carbine configuration with 70 having been sold to the state of New York for prison guards at Sing-Sing prison. Blade front and folding leaf rear sights. Four line address and patent marks on the left side of the receiver. Percussion nipple has been removed from breech block. Smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a steel buttplate and sling swivels.

Unmarked Percussion Rifle 45
The only marking on the rifle is "LMP" on the top flat of the heavy custom replacement barrel. Equipped with a large globe front sight with a yellow plastic inner sight, there is a level mounted in the rear sight base and a Vaver peep sight mounted on the rear of the frame which is adjustable for windage and elevation. The action has light scroll engraving, decoration trigger guard and adjustable double set triggers (the aforementioned is definitely of U.S. origin and quite possibly is Allen or Wesson). Fitted with a smooth forearm secured by a barrel wedge and straight grip stock with a steel crescent buttplate and patch box with light scroll engraving. There is no ram rod.

W.H. Horstmann Model 1860 Cavalry Officer's Saber with Silver-P
Model 1860 Cavalry Officer's Saber with 34-1/2- inch double fuller blade and elaborate cast silver hilt. The blade is etched with 15-inch decorative panels with an Eagle and Shield motif on the obverse and "U.S." on the reverse. The obverse ricasso has a panel etched "W.H.HORSTMANN / & SONS / PHILADELPHIA". The heavy silver plated hilt has a Eagle and Shield on a background of crossed flags and laurel and oak leaves between the lower branches. The guard has an elaborate cast knuckle bow. The down-turned quillon is cast in a leaf pattern with floral centers. The flat-top pommel has cast leaves on the top and a relief Medusa head on the back strap. The silver-plated grip is cast with the 15 grooves and has highly detailed cast brass bands in place of the traditional twisted wire wrap. The one-piece iron scabbard has silver plated suspension bands and drag. The suspension rings are attached by cast laurel wreaths and the bands feature relief stands of arms and colors. The sides of the drag are decorated with a soldier in relief beneath a flying eagle with shield and cannon on both sides. This is a flashy, high grade, presentation quality Civil War Model 1860 Cavalry Officer's Saber. The saber does not have an inscription or presentation.

Model 1840 Dragoon Saber with Scabbard
Model 1840 Dragoon Saber with brass, three-branch guard, leather covered grip with twisted brass wire wrap and 36- inch, flat back, double fuller blade with leather washer. The blade is marked "R & C" on the obverse ricasso but has no other markings. The saber is complete with a standard pattern iron scabbard with two suspension rings. The unmarked blade is probably a German blade imported during the Civil War; lack of Federal Ordnance inspection marks indicates the sword was probably state purchased.

Model 1840 Emerson & Silver Civil War Non-Commissioned Officer's
Civil War M1840 NCO Sword manufactured in 1863. The sword is complete with a blued steel scabbard with brass throat and drag. The32- inch straight, fullered blade marked 'EMERSON/&/SILVER/TRENTON/NJ" in four lines on the reverse ricasso and is stamped with the property mark, inspector's initials and date ("U.S./DFM/1863") on the obverse. The cast brass hilt has a grip with cast wire wrap and a double, kidney shaped, counter guard. The "DFM" Ordnance inspector's mark is stamped on the left side of the knuckle bow and the scabbard drag.

Model 1840 Dragoon Saber
The M1840 Saber has a 35 3/4-inch, unmarked, flat back, double fuller blade, brass three branch hilt with leather cover, wire wrapped grip and a iron scabbard with two suspension rings. A "GFC" ordnance inspection mark is stamped on the obverse side of the Phrygian Cap pommel below the rib. The unmarked blade was probably imported from Europe during the Civil War. The scabbard has no visible markings.

Regulation Civil War M1860 Light Cavalry Saber with 34 5/8 - inch round back blade, brass three branch hilt and iron scabbard with two suspension rings. The grips have a leather cover with twisted, brass, wire wrap. The obverse ricasso has a faint "U.S." property mark and the reverse has an illegible marker's mark. An illegible inspector's mark is stamped on top of the brass pommel. A rack number, "47" is stamped on the guard behind the grip. A "JCW" inspector's mark is stamped on the scabbard drag.

Scarce Sheble & Fisher Model 1840 Dragoon Saber
Civil War M1840 Enlisted Dragoon Saber manufactured by Sheble & Fisher of Philadelphia. The saber has a 35 3/4-inch flat back, double fuller blade with brass hilt. The brass hilt has a three branch guard and wooden grip with leather cover wrapped with twisted brass wire. The blade has a leather washer with incised edges. The iron scabbard has two suspension rings and a over-sized iron drag. The reverse ricasso is stamped: "SHEBLE & FISHER" in an arch above "PHILADA". "FD" is stamped on the top of the brass pommel and the side of the knuckle bow is stamped with an "F" and several un-identifiable characters. The saber has no Ordnance inspection marks and there is no record of any government contracts with Sheble & Fisher.

This is most likely a transitional model second pattern Merrill cavalry carbine that is distinguished by the serial number at the back of the lock. It was made without the patch box. The lock is marked "J.H.MERRILL BALTO / PAT JULY 1858, / APL.9. MAY 21-28-61". The left side of the stock above the saddle ring bar has a oval unreadable cartouche. The left side of the barrel next to the rear sight is marked with a "V / P / eagle head" proof. Blade front and three leaf rear sight. Brass barrel band, trigger guard and buttplate, fitted on a one piece straight grip stock with a saddle ring bar and ring mounted on the left side flat. Merrill carbines were issued to cavalry regiments in New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Wisconsin and Indiana.

Gallager Percussion-Carbine 50 percussion
This three digit serial number (626) Gallager carbine that was manufactured by Richardson & Overman of Philadelphia with a total production of about 15,700 in the 50 caliber. This is a single shot, breech loading percussion carbine with a walnut straight grip stock and a patch box. The lock has the early marking "GALLAGER'S / PATENT JULY 17TH 1860" over the serial number just behind the hammer. The front sight a fixed pinched blasé and the rear a folding leaf style. There is a saddle ring bar and ring mounted on the left stock wrist. The Gallager saw extensive service during the Civil War including cavalry regiments from Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia.

Gwyn & Campbell Union-Carbine 52 percussion
This is a Type II Gwyn & Campbell "Union Carbine" manufactured by Edward Gwyn and Abner Campbell of Hamilton, Ohio with a total production of 4,000. The breech end of the barrel is octagon and is fitted with a short-base, folding leaf, rear sight graduated to 600 yards. Sling bar and ring on the left side of the receiver. The rear lock plate screw enters from the left side of the stock wrist. The hammer is flat with beveled edges and the lever is the shorter Type II pattern with the vertically mounted claw-like latch. The receiver, rear sight base, hammer, and lever had a casehardened finish, all other metal parts were finished in blue. The stock is black walnut with an oil finish. The lock plate is marked "GWYN & CAMPBELL" in an arch over "PATENT / 1862 / HAMILTON. O." behind the hammer and "UNION RIFLE" ahead of the hammer. The serial number, "R889" is stamped on the bottom of the barrel, frame, lever and breech-block. The lower left barrel flat is stamped: "PT".

This is an example of one of the 8000 M1864 Joslyn breech-loading carbines purchased by the Ordnance Department form the Joslyn Fire Arms Company of Stonington, Connecticut . The carbine has the casehardened iron mountings and hooded firing pin that distinguish the Model 1864 Carbine from the brass mounted Model 1862 Carbine. The carbine has a blued barrel and oiled walnut stock. The barrel is fitted with a two-leaf, folding, rear sight, (short leaf missing). Burnside Rifle Co Burnside-Carbine 54 percussion
This is an example of a Burnside carbine as manufactured from 1863 to 1865. This later produced Model differs in that it has a guide screw in the center of the right side frame allowing smoother operation as the breech rides in a corresponding groove in the breech block. The barrel was blued and fitted with a two-leaf, folding rear sight graduated to 500 yards. The buttplate, receiver, hammer lever and barrel band were casehardened. The barrel tang, trigger guard, and breechblock had a high polish niter finish. The forend and stock are black walnut. The frame and lock plate have the standard two line Burnside marks including the 1856 patent date. There is a saddle ring bar and ring mounted on the left side of the receiver. The top of the barrel is stamped with a small "R" behind the rear sight. The serial number "5030" is located on the top of the frame and breechblock and there are small single letter inspection marks on most components.

This is an example of a Sharps Model 1859 Saddle Ring Carbine manufactured in 1861 that was subsequently converted to cartridge for the Indian Wars. There are no visible barrel markings. The rear sight spring is marked "R..S. LAWRENCE/ PATENTED/ FEB 15th 1859", "R. S. LAWRENCE' PAT/ APRIL 12th 1859 " and "C. The stock is an oil-finished walnut with a brass buttplate. The barrel has a pedestal mounted brass blade front sight, (worn or filed down) and a tangent rear sight graduated to 800 yards. The right side of the receiver is marked: "SHARPS / & / HANKINS / PHILADA" and the left side is marked: "SHARPS / PATENT / 1859". A solid representative example of one of the 20,601 percussion carbines manufactured by the Starr Arms Co. of Yonkers, New York, between 1862-1865. The carbine has a blued barrel, brass barrel band and buttplate, casehardened remaining parts and an oil-finished walnut stock and forearm with a boxed "LM" cartouche on the left wrist. The barrel has a two-leaf folding rear sight and a saddle ring and staple are attached to the left side of the receiver. The serial number "5070" is located on the right side of the breechblock and bottom of the barrel under the forearm. "STARR ARMS CO. YONKERS N.Y." is marked on top of the barrel in front of the rear sight, "H.G.S." on the left side at the breech, "STARR'S PATENT / SEPT. 14 TH 1858" on the receiver tang and "STARR ARMS CO / YONKERS. This is an example of a scarce Triplett & Scott Carbine manufactured by the Meriden Manufacturing Company, Meriden, Connecticut between 1864-1865. Some 2000 22-inch barrel carbines were manufactured. The carbine has a blued barrel, rear sight, barrel band and barrel support. The forearm and stock are oil finished black walnut. The receiver, hammer, trigger guard and buttplate are casehardened. The carbine features a seven-round magazine and is loaded by twisting the barrel to align with the magazine on the lower left side of the receiver. The carbine has a folding leaf rear sight which lacks elevation markings. Sling swivels on both the toe and heel of the stock. The serial number, "1460" is stamped on the right side of the frame. The lower left side of the frame is marked "MERIDEN MAN'FG. CO. / MERIDEN, CONN.". The patent marking: "TRIPLETT & SCOTT / PATENT DEC. 6, 1864" is marked on the upper receiver tang.

Personally endorsed by President Lincoln after a trial firing demonstration, Spencer rifles and carbines were among the most popular arms of the American Civil War. Toward the end of the Civil War the Spencer established itself as the main arm for cavalry use and was widely issued during the Indian War era as well. The Spencer was carried by Custer's 5th Michigan Cavalry and Wilder's Lightning Brigade. The barrel was originally blued and the receiver, hammer, loading lever and buttplate casehardened. It is equipped with a brass blade front and a folding adjustable rear sights. The top of the receiver has the standard three line address and patent date. The stock and forearm are oil-finished walnut with a single barrel band, sling bar mounted on the left stock wrist, steel buttplate with compartment and sling swivel.

Fifth model Burnside carbine manufactured from 1863 to 1865. Burnside carbines were one of the primary Federal Cavalry carbines for the first three years of the Civil War and were issued extensively in both Eastern and Western theaters. The 5th Model differs in that it has a guide screw in the center of the right side frame allowing smoother operation as the breech rides in a corresponding groove in the breechblock. The barrel is fitted with a pinched front sight and two leaf rear sight graduated to 500 yards. The receiver and lock are absent of any markings except for the top of the receiver at the breech marked "BURNSIDE PATENT / MODEL OF 1864" over the serial number. The matching number also appears on the top of the breechblock. There is a saddle ring bar and ring mounted on the left side of the receiver. The top of the barrel is stamped "CAST STEEL 1864" ahead of the rear sight. Small "B" and "P" sub-inspector's markings are stamped on some small components. Two faint script Ordnance inspection marks are stamped on the left stock wrist. Smooth straight grip stock with sling swivel and smooth steel buttplate.

White skin grip wrapped with triple brass wire, crown shaped brass pommel with an eagle surrounded by stars on the cap and leaf engraving and brass bow with leaf engraving and cutouts with "USN" and a fish shaped ferrule. Black leather scabbard with brass tip and throat and double carrying rings with serpent shaped drag and rope design carrier rings. Knot and ribbon are approximately 14" long. 4) U.S. Marine marked officer sword, highly polished 32 inch single fuller blade with a flag and shield amid floral scrolls and a six pointed star all in side a satin panel and N.S. Meyer logo above "GERMANY" on the ricasso. Identical right side with a flower with a brass medallion inset on the ricasso. Brass crown shaped pommel and bow with floral scroll cutouts. Remington Arms Inc New Model Revolver 44
Manufactured circa 1863- '75, this was one of the major handguns of the Civil War and Remington's last 44 percussion revolver. The Remington New Model Army was the primary revolver issued to the Federal cavalry after the fire at Colt's factory in 1863. The top barrel flat is marked: "PATENTED SEPT. 14. 1858 / E.REMINGTON & SONS. ILION. NEW YORK. U.S.A / NEW-MODEL". The serial number is located on the bottom barrel flat and left side of the frame under the grip, both match. Small single letter "J" inspection mark on the left barrel flat, and on the frame in front of the cylinder and a "P" on the right side barrel flat, frame and cylinder. Uhlinger William P Pocket Revolver 32 RF
Manufactured from 1861 to 1865, this 32 caliber variation was manufactured by William P. Uhlinger with the machinery he purchased from William Hankins in 1861 so Hankins could go into business with Christian Sharps. This revolver has a blue barrel and cylinder, silver plated iron frame and casehardened hammer. The top barrel flat is marked "D.D. CONE WASHINGTON D.C.". D.D. Cone was one of four names Uhlinger used to avoid detection by Smith & Wesson, because these revolvers were an infringement of the Rollin White patent owned by Smith & Wesson. Ironically, Cone was a patent attorney. The ejector rod is mounted under the barrel and removed to eject the shell, German silver blade front sight, frame notch rear, spur trigger, six round cylinder and smooth two piece rosewood grips.
