The iron scabbard has two suspension rings and a over-sized iron drag. The reverse ricasso is stamped: "SHEBLE & FISHER" in an arch above "PHILADA". "FD" is stamped on the top of the brass pommel and the side of the knuckle bow is stamped with an "F" and several un-identifiable characters. The saber has no Ordnance inspection marks and there is no record of any government contracts with Sheble & Fisher.
