Five Swords with Scabbards

1) U.S. Coast Guard M1852 Officer Sword, straight 28 inch, single fuller blade with leaf scroll and naval insignia with inscription panel and an inset medallion at the ricasso on the right, left marked "U.S.C.G." in a banner and "TRADE/CHALLENGER/MARK". Brass hilt with oak leaf and acorn cutouts and "USCG" on the quillon, serpent shape bow, crown shaped pommel with eagle on the cap, white shark skin grip with twisted brass wire wrap. Leather scabbard with brass throat with stars and stripes shield, carrying rings with ropes, and tip with serpent shaped drag. 2) M1840 Non-Commissioned Officer sword, straight 30 inch blade marked with leaf scrolls and flag and shields on both sides, an eagle with lightning bolts and fig leaves on the right side, "U.S." on the left with "J.H. WILSON/& CO/PHILADELPHIA PA" at the ricasso. Brass hilt and bow with cord wrapping, round ball pommel. Nickel plated scabbard with brass throat and tip with drag. 3) Missouri Military Academy Cadet Sword, straight 29 inch, West Point pattern blade with floral and scroll etching, flag and shields on the sides, marked "C.D. TenEock" on one side and "U.S." on the other, with "H.V./ALLEN/&Co/NY" on the ricasso. Brass hilt with two torches forming the quillon with "MMA" on one side, simulated wire wrapped grip and an urn shaped pommel, eagles on each side. Brass scabbard with brass throat and tip with drag and frog marked "8" on the rear. 4) M1872 Mounted Artillery Officer Sword, curved 31 inch, nickel plated, single fuller, unmarked blade. The hilt and bow are brass, marked "D-8" on the bow near the pommel, smooth ebony fingered grooved grip. Steel scabbard with a brass throat and tip with silver stud. The rear is marked "D-8" just below the throat. 5) European D-Guard Saber, curved 31-1/2 inch single fuller marked "WOOLLEY/SARGANT" on the spine. Brass hilt with leather grip and birds head pommel. Black leather scabbard with silver plated brass throat.

Condition1) Very good, light spotting on the blade and clear etchings. Grip is excellent, the hilt has a warm mustard colored patina. Scabbard is fair, leather is worn on the leading edge. Brass is very good with light handling marks. 2) Good, a few tiny dings in the edges and light spotting. Hilt is good, minor dings and a mustard patina. Scabbard is good with scattered spotting. The tip has a few small dents, the throat has a small worn spot, both have a dark mustard colored patina. 3) Fair, scattered spotting and a brown patina on the blade, all markings are clear. Hilt and grip are good. The scabbard shaft has a dark brown patina with the tip, carry ring and throat a lighter color. Minor usage and handling dings on the tip. 4) Good, light flaking areas on the plating at the hilt, a small pitted area on the left. The hilt has a mustard colored patina, the grip has a small dent. The scabbard has a dark brown patina. The brass tip has a few small dents. 5) Very good, light, scattered spotting. The hilt is very good, brass has a mellow sheen and the leather grip has light handling marks and age cracks. The scabbard is poor, missing the lower 1/3 of the shaft and tip. The throat and carrying ring have only small areas of the silver plating remaining.
